SEMINARIOS DEL IFLP y DEL DEPARTAMENTO
MARTES 21 de ABRIL 11hs – AULA CHICA
TÍTULO: "Hunting for strong P/CP odd effects in hadron matter"
EXPOSITOR: Alexander Andrianov
V.A. Fock Department of Theoretical Physics, Saint-Petersburg State University, Russia
RESUMEN: A (mostly self-) review will be done about what an environment one could
expect to detect strong parity breaking. In heavy ion collisions the extremely high
temperatures may trigger topological charge in metastable bubbles and, as a direct
consequence, separation of chiral quark states. A similar situation can be triggered
by pion condensation or DCC. In such cases, the properly measured polarization
asymmetries of dilepton pairs may give unambiguous evidences for parity violation (a
program for ALICE LHC).
Various effective quark/hadron models with embedded axial/chiral chemical potential
give instructive description of hadron states behavior in the chiral medium. They
give a suitable guide for lattice treatment of parity breaking in hadron matter and
some of predictions are already confirmed.
In neutron/axion stars, boundary effects in domains with pseudoscalar condensates
may reduce their cooling and create enhancement of positron production.
